We get many requests regarding getting Married in the Lake District.
Yes it is possible, but you need to follow some guidelines.
1. You must contact the Registrar in Kendal before you make any arrangements. The telephone number is
01539 773566 for Windermere,Ambleside and Grasmere.
01229 894171 for Hawkshead.
The Registrars are very helpful and they will guide through the process.

We are very open to marrying couples from our own locality and from the rest of the UK and even overseas if you fulfil the qualifications for the Registrar.
We can offer you impartial advice for your big day. We are not linked to any Hotel or Photographer, but having conducted Weddings in Cumbria for over twenty years, we have many tips on how to make your day special.
Our Minister David is always happy to talk through the possibilities with you on the phone or by e-mail. And if you want to come up to have a look at the various Churches we will show you round.
